Have you ever wondered?
Why New Year falls during winter?
Maybe it’s a reminder
For us to remember
Regardless of what we did last summer
Our Redeemer has always been wanting to settle the matter.
Though our sins are scarlet like the leaves during fall
We could still be whiter than snow
This is what you know:
That the first date is a day to celebrate the divine reset
But don’t you forget
That as we repent, regardless of the date
We can regain our original state and remain to have a clean slate
As if we resurrected from the grave
Now, we are saved and free; no longer a slave.
But wait, we’re all works in progress
Just like how winter makes some of us depressed
Renewal is cold, emotional, painful process
But don’t you worry about winter
Remember that spring is just around the corner
When we start to see the blooming of flowers
When the temperature gets a little warmer
He will make all things new, our sins will no longer be remembered.
For as surely as the sun rises in the morning,
His new mercy will renew us day by day
His grace will erase our guilt and shame
And His love will transform us; we will never be the same again
These three will remain until our renewal in heaven happens.
So, Father here’s my prayer;
Provide for me a beanie of salvation
That my mind may not be frozen and forget my glorious destination.
Let your grace embrace me like a winter jacket
Clothe me with peace and joy that I may be able to endure it
Let your presence become like a warm shelter
A place where my frozen heart melts because of your heartfelt love like summer
Let your mercy help me to stand up wherever I stumble in sin like slipping on black ice
Let hope arise as I stare in the merciful eyes of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Who purchased our redemption with His blood and resurrection?
His salvation is the solution to my New year’s resolution
In His presence the phrase “New Year, New Me” becomes a reality
So Father, here I am, redeem, restore and renew me
With your grace unending
Your mercy new every morning
And with your love unending
As we wait for the second coming of our one true King
These three will remain until the final renewal in heaven happens.
